Tow A Frame Ltd not only supplies and installs lightweight electronic braked A-Frame systems — we also supply and fit quality towbars for motorhomes and campervans.

Type-Approved Towbars

Motorhomes registered after April 2012 are required to use EC type-approved towbars specified for the make and model of vehicle.

We supply and fit quality towing equipment from recognised UK and European manufacturers including Tow-Trust, AL-KO, Witter, SMV and Memo (Netherlands).

For some older pre-April 2012 vehicles, EC type approval regulations may not apply depending on vehicle age and application. In these cases, we can still supply suitable towing equipment sourced from established towbar manufacturers.

Vehicle-Specific Electrics

When fitting a vehicle-specific electrical kit, if you are only towing an A-frame or trailer we normally install a 13-pin socket wired for 8 pins.

If you require a fully wired 13-pin setup, please let us know your requirements, as specifications and costs can differ.

We are happy to quote for either option.

Quoting for a Towbar

To provide an accurate quotation, we will usually require:

  • An image of the second or third-stage chassis plate
    (for example: Fiat base vehicle together with the motorhome converter plate showing towing weights)
  • Photos of the underside/rear chassis area of the motorhome

This allows us to confirm:

  • Standard chassis configuration
  • AL-KO chassis type
  • Air suspension
  • Chassis extensions
  • Other vehicle-specific modifications

This information helps ensure we supply the correct towbar and electrical setup for your vehicle.
